For each year I was at Cleveland State I was one of two to three designers awarded the Visual Art Merit Award. As part of the award I was given the opportunity to use space in their year end gallery for work of my choice. In 2018 I chose to use the space to create an informative piece about Carbon Footprint. As a designer, the art gallery provided an excellent opportunity to explore how information can be communicated through installation.
After doing research on contributing factors to one's carbon footprint, I developed a piece built around the concept of "Islands" representing the largest contributions. Each island had cities titled after the individual aspects of each category with visual and numerical emphasis on that impact.
